Now in its 22nd year, Sainte-Marie’s First Light is a must-see holiday event with a great lineup of family activities and live musical performances, all amidst the spectacular glow of thousands of candles. Come and experience some holiday magic!

Guests can look forward to:

  • Live music: including Ruth Sutherland playing the harp in the church of Saint-Joseph, Chris Walser handrumming in the longhouse, and Doug Feaver performing in the chapel
  • Family-friendly fun: seasonal card writing, candle making demonstrations, legends in the longhouse and more
  • Exceptional artisans: More than 50  talented vendors have already confirmed their participation
  • Delicious food: The Big Canoe food truck and Grounded Coffee Co. are offering yummy fare on the Canadiana Patio
  • Presentations: Wye Marsh birds of prey (Saturdays only), outdoor blacksmithing, as well as musket and mortar firing
  • Fireworks: Thursdays at 7pm only

Admission Rates

Reservations are required

Guests must book one of the following timeslots: 5:30 pm, 6 pm, 6:30 pm, 7 pm or 7:30 pm.

We ask that all guests bring a non-perishable food donation for our local food bank.

$10 per person (tax included)

Kids 5 and under are free

PAYMENT IS DUE UPON ARRIVAL

A Complimentary Shuttle Bus will run between Walmart and Sainte-Marie among the Hurons.

Reservations

In order to provide an enjoyable experience, guests are required to reserve a timeslot prior to their visit. Payment is due upon arrival.

Please arrive within your 30-minute timeslot. Guests are welcome to stay until the event ends at 9 p.m.

Once you submit your reservation, a confirmation will automatically be sent to your email address. Please check your inbox and junk folder before making a new reservation. We can't accept changes to your reservation as of 1 pm on the event date for which your tickets are booked.

Shuttle Details

Free shuttles and parking are available at Walmart, located at 16845 Hwy 12 in Midland. Buses will run continually between Walmart and Sainte Marie Among the Hurons each event evening. The first bus leaves Walmart at 5:30 pm.

Please allow an extra 15-20 minutes to get to the site if you are taking the shuttle.

Helpful Information

On-site parking is available but limited.

Only service animals will be permitted at this special event.

The event takes place mostly outdoors. Please dress accordingly.
